A few minutes ago I heard this akak calling Era.fm venting out her feelings about Mawi. The DJ was Linda Onn. I would like to congratulate her for getting the opportunity to scoff Mawi on air. I salute you.
She expressed how she felt about Mawi and all his bullshit. Linda Onn, of course, tried to defend Mawi, and she was rather composed, even though she failed. The emotional akak got her way. I totally agree with everything she said. She took the words right out of my hate-filled mind.
No matter what Mawi said, no matter how strong his fanatic supporters are, there are still a lot of us that think Mawi should never have been allowed to be on the entertainment scene. I dont think the Press are impressed of him anymore. I dont think there're many fellow artistes that want to be his friend anymore. Why is he still there? All his crap is actually 'killing' himself, professionally, and I really hope he finally 'dies' with utter disgrace. Huh.

//stuff I HATE about Malaysian drivers. huh.
I hate a lot of things. Hating stuff is what I do. Well I often get motivational emails that says we should let go of all things that we hate coz hatred would only rot in you and you would be the one suffering in the end. Or something. I'd say that's bullshit. I'll hate anyone and anything I like, whenever I like. E.g: I hate Mawi.
But lets be focused here. What I wanna say is I hate most other Malaysian drivers. Oh, man I hate them so much I just cant help but putting this in my freakin blog. I have made some categories of drivers (and motorcyclists) that I hate. Lets put them in point form.
1. The 'I'm-too-freakin-lazy-to-turn-on-my-signal' type
Although this list is not in any particular order, I hate these kind of drivers the most. The signal that I mean here is the turn signal. You know, the yellow light that blinks when you activate it's switch when you are going left or right. =P There are so many drivers here in the east coast that are too darn lazy to turn on their turn signals when they should have. E.g: changing lanes, taking corners, etc. Damn it. Dont they know how dangerous it can be? How the heck did you pass your driving test la? These drivers dont deserve their driving licence.
My tip: switch on your freakin' turn signal when you should.
2. When does a kancil turns into a khinzir?
Have you ever heard or say: 'Khinzir punya Kancil!' * ? People normally say this when they're driving around looking for a parking space in a parking area and when they spotted what seems to be an empty space from far has actually been taken up by a Kancil that's parked too damn deep. Thats how a Kancil turns into a khinzir (pig).
* Note: The phrase is best expressed with the khinzir substituted with babi. The credit goes to my technician, Najib.
My tip to avoid your tiny car from being a called khinzir: please do not park too deep, or better still, reverse park!
p/s: I hope my kelisa has never been called a khinzir. =P
3. The 'I'm-afraid-of-the-dark' type
This is normal. This kind of people really like to turn on their high beam when driving at night I sometimes accidentally do this and I hate myself for it. Its normal on highways where people might forget that they turned on their high beam and didnt realize an on-coming car from the opposite way. What I cant make any sense here is that I have, sometimes, encountered drivers that turned on their high beams during daytime. Wth? Cant u see enough with the sunlight on? I dunno why but I think the beam causes more glare during daytime rather than night.
My tip: be aware of on-coming vehicles if you wanna turn on the high beam.
4. Motorcyclists
There are so many things that I hate about motorcyclists that I think I'm gonna save this for another entry. Maybe I'll throw in some photos as proof.
My tip: drive a car if you can afford it.
5. The 'cruising' type
I think these people really wanted to have a ride on the cruise liner ships but they cant afford it so they do it on the road. What I mean by cruising here is driving at speeds of between 40 to 60 km/h. Its not so bad if you're cruising at night time, with your girlfriend or family, where there arent that many vehicles on the road. But what the heck are you doing cruising on the road during rush hour!? I just couldnt understand why someone would wanna drive at 50km/h and holding up the traffic behind him.
One other type of cruisers are drivers who smoke while driving. I have observed that some cruisers are smokers. You know, when smokers smoke while driving, they'd never do it with the windows shut. They'd want to open the window so that they wont suffocate in their own smoke. But when they do this they cant drive fast or else the cigarette would be blown away from their fingers. So they drive slow, at speeds around 50 km/h. Darn.
My tip: for normal cruisers - please drive faster. for smokers - stop smoking or stop driving.
6. The 'color-blind' type
It doesnt matter what color your car is. The most important colors that you should know when you are driving is RED, YELLOW and GREEN. Some people are RED blind. For these people, they would still be driving even though the red (stop) traffic light is on. They think they can beat the RED light by driving really fast. Well I wont elaborate here on the consequences of such ignorance. You should know.
Some people are GREEN blind. They would still be stopping at the traffic light even though it is already green (go). They'd only move when other drivers start honking. I guess they just like the soothing sounds from an automobile's horn.
My tip: for RED blindness - please dont do it. you could kill someone. for GREEN blindness - please learn to be alert at traffic lights. Get into gear Before the light turns green.
7. The 'u-cant-overtake-me!' type
This is another dangerous type. They cant stand people overtaking them. Especially those with big cars who are being overtaken by a smaller car. If you wont let people overtake you why the hell cant you drive faster??? You are putting people in harm when you start to speed up while people are overtaking you. This kind of incident happened to my friend while we were in UTP. The stupid driver was another UTP student and she was a girl. It happens to me all the time when driving on a highway. Darn.
My tip: if you cant stand people overtaking you, please drive faster.
8. The 'brake-dancers'.
Yeah, thats right brake-dancers, not break-dance. These drivers like to hit the brakes a lot. It's almost like they were dancing. For most of the time I could not see what the problem was. Sometimes it happens because they almost missed a junction or a stop. This is also so darn dangerous coz people driving behind you might not be able to stop in time.
My tip: for brakers - please plan your trips and no sudden braking please. for the rest of the people - dont drive too close to the vehicle in front of you. You might not be prepared when they wanted to dance.
I think that's about it. I know there are other points that I might have missed here. If I get some new ones I'll continue in the 'Comments' section. If anyone is offended by this entry then you must be one of the drivers. Good that you have read this. Please, driving is not something to be taken lightly. People die on the road every day. It is a useless way to die. If God wanted to take your life on the road then we couldnt do anything about it, but thats a different story.
Note: the above mentioned drivers are valid only if their cars are fully functioning and the faults are only due to their own human ignorance.

I was in UTP for the convofair some time ago, and i just felt compelled to write this thing.
Sunday, 27th August 2006, 9am, UTP Convofair parking area a.k.a sawah bendang
Me: (Driving thru the becak area to get to a clean parking space with rujix on the passenger side)
Pakgad: (Pointing to an empty parking spot but with becak soil all around)
Me: (Ignored him and tried to drive past him. FYI: there were many other spaces that are cleaner but much farther away from the fair)
Pakgad: (Waved his hand and motioned me to stop the car)
Me: (Stopped my car and opened my window)
Pakgad: Nak pegi mana?
Me: Nak cari parking.
Pakgad: Masuk la parking ni. Penuhkan kawasan depan dulu.
Me: Nak parking kat sana sket.
Pakgad: Saya kata penuhkan depan dulu.
Me: Taknak la, becak tu, nanti kotor la kereta saya.
Pakgad: Kalau taknak kotor baik balik rumah je la.
Me: Okla. Rujik jom balik je la. (I drove off, cursing, got out of the stupid parking area, and parked my car at V5)
Bert was driving behind us and had a similar situation but he drove and parked at a cleaner parking space, ignoring the pakgads staring at him as he got out of his car.
Hmm.. Are all pakgads in UTP like that? The pakgads at my place are so friendly that they made me think why couldnt the pakgads at UTP be more like them.

DI atas alasan apa sekalipun, ungkapan ‘It will sound stupid, if I speak Malay’ mendatangkan rasa dukacita dan kemarahan Menteri Kebudayaan, Kesenian dan Warisan, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim yang menganggapnya terang-terangan menghina bahasa bahasa dan budaya Melayu.
Ungkapan itu antara perkataan yang dikeluarkan pemenang Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Festival Filem Malaysia ke-9 (FFM19), Sharifah Amani semasa berucap selepas menerima trofi kemenangannya dari pelakon veteran, Rubiah Suparman dan Datuk Rahim Razali.
Perkataan lain yang dikeluarkan pelakon muda ini ialah, “Lets do it more often if filem ini dikatakan mencemarkan budaya.” Ucapannya yang dianggap sebagai kurang ajar itu mengejutkan hampir seluruh yang hadir di Dewan Merdeka, Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC), dan sekali gus merosakkan acara FFM19.
Dr Rais yang ditemui media selepas acara itu berlangsung, berkata ucapan Sharifah Amani yang dirujuknya sebagai ‘bintang filem perasan’ itu, sebagai terlalu merendahkan reputasi bangsa dan bahasa sendiri.
“Sebutan yang dikeluarkan pemenang tertentu mungkin lantaran rasa ‘gubra’ lantas merendahkan bahasa dan bangsa sendiri. Saya harap bintang filem seperti ini jangan diajak ke atas pentas lagi untuk memberi ucapan.
“Sebab apa yang disebutkan itu terlalu merendahkan reputasi bangsa dan bahasa sendiri. Jadi kalau seorang bintang filem berperasaan begitu, masa depan filem tempatan kurang dapat saya apitkan dengan kejayaan,” katanya lagi.
Tambah Dr Rais lagi, beliau memang duka cita dengan gelagat ‘bintang filem itu’ dan yakin perasaan itu akan turut dirasai penonton yang menonton siaran langsung FFM19.
“Caranya mencemarkan keadaan. Tentu sekali penonton seluruh tanah air memberi reaksi yang sama. Jadi sebelum surat mencurah-curah (menyatakan tidak puas hati) kepada saya, lebih saya buat pengumuman yang saya sendiri dukacita di atas gelagat bintang filem seperti itu,” katanya.
Menurutnya, walaupun bagaimana emosi pun, sebagai seorang pelakon, sekurang-kurang jiwa berpijak di bumi nyata, tidak sepanjang masa melihat bintang di langit.
“Kalau seorang (dari kaum) India dia tak mengatakan ‘sound stupid, to speak Indian or Tamil’, (sedangkan) dia seorang Melayu dia mengatakan ‘sound stupid, if I speak Malay’.
“Tidak ada cara lain yang paling dahsyat saya rasa, bagi seseorang pelakon menyatakan sedemikian, di khalayak ramai dan seantero tanah air. Saya harap ibu bapanya mengajar sedikit budi bahasa. Belajar bagaimana bercakap dan tidak mengeluarkan kata-kata yang menghina bangsa dan bahasa sendiri.
“Macam mana seronok pun, takkan kita hilang punca. Kalau nak menjatuhkan bahasa sendiri tak usah sebut kepada orang ramai. Kami di kementerian (Kebudayaan, Kesenian Dan Warisan) mengajar orang berbudi bahasa, berbahasa dengan baik.
“Tapi bintang filem naik pentas, lanyak bahasa sendiri, lanyak bangsa sendiri. Ini saya tidak boleh maafkan!” sambungnya lagi.
Sehubungan itu, Dr Rais memberi amaran kepada semua pihak yang menganjurkan, kalau masih ada perkara seperti ini, lebih baik jangan diadakan.
“Sebab mahu tak mahu, kerajaan Malaysia terbabit dalam anjuran ini. Orang memandang kerajaan, orang memandang KeKKWa. Ini yang orang tak faham. Jadi saya mohon penganjur berbudi bahasa dan kalau tidak boleh bercakap, jangan bercakap,” katanya sambil menyerahkan isu itu kepada PFM untuk mengambil tindakan sewajarnya.

Well, I watched the show. I kinda liked Sh Amani also. When she said that, not for a single moment did I think she was insulting the Malay language. But then today I heard from someone that this thing is now a big controversy. Even the Minister is upset. Then I understood what the hoot is all about.
Now, my views have changed. I think Amani needs to take some lessons on public speaking. I know she didnt mean to offend the entire country with her speech but she should learn to think before saying things. People are so sensitive nowadays. Nevertheless, I was upset by her words too.
One more thing, Sepet was kinda nice, Gubra kinda sucked.

Kempen boikot Coca Cola, Starbucks
JOHOR BAHRU: Aman Malaysia semalam melancarkan kempen memboikot produk minuman Coca Cola dan rangkaian kedai kopi Amerika Syarikat, Starbucks sebagai bantahan terhadap sokongan dua syarikat berkenaan terhadap rejim Israel.
Penyelarasnya, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, berkata kempen itu turut mendapat kerjasama daripada Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia (PPIM) dan Persatuan Restoran Muslim Malaysia (Presma).
Katanya, kedua-dua syarikat itu secara terang-terangan menyatakan sokongan untuk terus menyalurkan dana kepada rejim Israel untuk membeli senjata bagi meneruskan serangan terhadap Lubnan.
"Kami menyarankan kepada semua rakyat Malaysia tidak kira bangsa dan agama untuk bersama-sama memboikot produk Coca Cola dan Starbucks atas sokongan mereka (syarikat) terhadap tindakan Israel di Lubnan sejak kira-kira sebulan lalu," katanya selepas merasmikan Mesyuarat Perwakilan Pemuda Umno Bahagian Tebrau di sini, semalam.
Mukhriz berkata, kempen memboikot itu cara terbaik untuk rakyat negara ini, menunjukkan rasa marah dan tidak puas hati kepada tindakan Amerika Syarikat yang terus membisu dengan keganasan Israel.
"Presma mempunyai kira-kira 6,000 ahli yang terdiri daripada pemilik restoran India Muslim juga bersetuju untuk tidak menjual semua jenis produk Coca Cola.
"Masih banyak lagi produk Amerika Syarikat di sini, tetapi kita lihat dua syarikat ini adalah yang utama dan kita berharap tindakan memboikot akan memberikan kesan kepada mereka," katanya.
